How we grow

We use Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)

All crops are produced using sustainable methods in a controlled environment with custom light recipes. By using CEA, we can produce best quality crops at maximum productivity in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.

CEA is an advanced and intensive form of hydroponically-based agriculture. Plants are grown within a controlled environment so the growing conditions can be optimised to reliably produce quality products all year round.

CEA is more efficient and reliable that traditional farming and enables more precise control of Light, Water , Temperature, Humidity, CO2, Air Flow, Fertigation, Filtration and Desinfection.

CEA growing is becoming the state-of-the-art plant production method because of the numerous advantages. These include:

  • Extended growing season – often continuous production throughout the year
  • Greatly reduced consumption of water – up to 90% less water use
  • More effective pest control – Harmful Pesticides are often eliminated
  • Growing can be done locally – much nearer to markets
  • Less chance for crop losses due to weather, pests, ect
  • More efficient use of Plant nutrients – used for maximum production
  • Custom crops easier to grow for local markets

Many countries, such as Holland, do not differentiate whether the produce has been grown by hydroponics or by any other methods; they just concentrate on the quality of the produce. Produce quality is more likely to remain consistent in hydroponic systems, as plants are often less stressed than in other systems.
